#24 Anders & André – In Praise of Denmark’s Idleness

André and Anders talk about the varying reactions to the swine flu in Scandinavian countries. Whereas in Sweden it has been portrayed by some media as the new black plague, in Denmark they seem to be dealing with it as just a regular cold, nothing to worry about. The podcast quickly escalates into a blatant tribute to the laid back country of Denmark.

#20 Anders & André – Summer of Love – (Intermediate)

André just came back from playing a gig with his band at Sweden’s take on music festival Woodstock – the Hultsfredfestival. Hence, this week Anders and André discuss the phenomenon of festival going. Towards the end of the podcast, we explore traditional festival food “langos” and ask ourselves where all langos chefs go into hiding in the fall, after all festivals have ended?

#19 Anders & André – The Swedish Summer Holiday – (Intermediate)

Feeling the warm rays of the sun, hearing the children playing beneath the balcony, birds singing in the trees and neighbours mowing their lawns, André and Anders were inspired to talk a little bit about the Swedish summer holiday.

#16 André & Anders – A Midsummer Night’s Dream

These first and beautiful summer months are in Sweden a time of many traditional celebrations. This week, André and Anders talk about Midsummer, the ancient celebration of the longest day of the year. One might perhaps want to call it the bigger and better brother of the celebration of Valborg, discussed a few weeks ago. Better indeed, with regards to its dedication to food. Herring and strawberries crown this annual great party.
